The nebula or gas has great line direction and the flow is great because it comes from the left to the right, which is the easiest way our eyes move(for left-to-right readers). The texture of the nebula is wonderful.
I do not think the planets work well however. They are too aligned horizontally and 2 of them are dead centered. I think the best way to approach this is to create a really close planet; I imagine the camera angle or point of view being near the atmosphere of the planet. I would envision the close up planet on the bottom left corner. Then, to balance it all out and to get rid of the negative space atop, I would place a moon at the top right corner.
At the moment, the composition of the planets are lacking, but I urge you to try out and experiment with my suggestions and see where that leads you. In terms of space, there's a lot of negative space on the top right corner and the bottom left corner. I think by following my suggestions for the planets, the negative areas will be gone
The colors are fabulous and I'm greatly enjoying the reds, pinks, and deep blues. I think the yellow area is great but I find myself asking what is causing the intense light; I do not see stars there, however that is up to you. If you do redo the planets, I urge you to color them well. The current planets are very desaturated for such a colorful environment. I would make their atmospheres slightly reflect the colors of the nebula a little more.
I think this is a marvelous piece and a wonderful collaboration, and I praise you both for working together and making a beautiful work of art, however I think this has much more potential and it would be great if you both could meet that end.
