Far Away by =thiagochackal is a very beautiful and calm scene. By looking at this piece, you can forget about time easily. ( Suggested by Athena-Tivnan and Featured by gucken )
:iconmatthewjmimnaugh:
Nut shell: “Far Away,” by =thiagochackal, characterizes every connotation one pictures when hearing the term “space art,” containing plants with shiny albedos, stunning nebulae—even the widened text in the piece’s title near the bottom. Accentuated by what appear to be ion flairs and transport lines, the piece also reaches its way into the farther realms of originality. While execution-related aspects may not be 100% perfect, the piece’s raw beauty and imagination distracts one from any flaws that may be present.

Vision: Plain and simple, the artist knew exactly what they wanted to do, following that image right to the end. In my opinion, I would like to see just a tad more evidence of civilization (more light clusters, dimmer clusters around those already present, etc.) in order to justify the arcing travel-ways’ space-visible luminosity; given the lights present, I could not validate enough population to need such an massive travel infrastructure. But this is just a small detail; after all, the population could mostly live underground, for all I know. :star: :star: :star: :star: :star-empty:

Originality: Space art is becoming more and more saturated with cliché images. It is thusly very difficult to do things in a fresh, original light. While I have seen the ion trails, urban lights, and travel ways before, this bears the fingerprint of care and I am bored by it in no way.:star: :star: :star: :star: :star-empty:

Technique: Skills are evident in this piece, though I have several small grievances. First, it is very difficult to determine the topography of the planet and, given the fact that there is little atmospheric glow, I would contend that lad mass should be a bit more defined. Second, the wispy nebula piece in the bottom left distracts me just enough to put undue attention on it; minus this, the background is phenomenally balanced, however. Last, there is a mid-sized region in the lower right that seems unnaturally blurred. On the positive end, the warm patch of nebula near the top left is a notable touch. I also appreciate the fact that the planets all share a single light source, which is a simple plus. :star: :star: :star: :star-half: :star-empty:

Impact: Solid. Simply solid. The title “Far Away” implies emptiness, an emptiness that is fully represented in this piece. The canvas is mostly occupied by space and even the planet holds a dark, somewhat daunting, miasma; even the ion trails, if left by ships, give the impression of leaving, another strong “empty” ideal. :star: :star: :star: :star: :star-half:

Overall: Well done piece, to say the least, and worthy of every second of my time taken to examine the piece, formulate an impression, and write my review. A truly notable job and promising artist. :star: :star: :star: :star: :star-empty:

Awesome! Hmm.. If I buy this in the store (you know, with frame and all, want it on my wall!), I guess the title and link at the bottom will be on the painting as well?

Actually, would it be much of a hassle? If not, I'd be more than happy to buy it without second thought (if it's in the deviantART shop, so I can buy a frame and all!). :)
